Position Description
Position Title: Maintenance Personnel
Supervisor: General Manager/Owner
Objective: To supervise and maintain the maintenance department and be able to perform all functions of that department in keeping with a standard acceptable to Chico Sports Club and its members.
Level: Lead
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for minor repair and maintenance on various equipment including the HVAC system, washers/dryers, various sports equipment, and plumbing/electrical.
Responsible for gathering and completing maintenance requests in a timely manner when received by staff/management.
Responsible for safety walkthroughs one time per month at least, and recording findings in an up to date safety log, and taking appropriate action to correct any problems.
Responsible for the daily evaluation of Chico Sports Club’s maintenance needs and taking the appropriate action to maintain those needs.
Responsible, in conjunction with the club manager and owner, for evaluating the maintenance needs of the facility and determining whether the projects are to be completed in house or by contracted services.
Responsible for directly handling all work to be completed in house when deemed appropriate by club manager and/or owner.
Responsible for being the contact person for any outside contracted services, i.e. inspectors, fire marshal, water, city council inspectors, and so on.
Work in conjunction with contracted pool company (Perfection Pools) to ensure pool/spa quality, and maintain the standards of Chico Sports Club pool and spa systems.
Must be available to work days, nights, weekends or any time during normal business hours. Weekly schedule must also reflect a variety of times in order to complete projects before opening or after closing, particularly maintenance of the men and women’s locker rooms.

Must know proper chemical handling techniques and be able to demonstrate those on a daily basis
Education: High School Diploma and/or experience in Maintenance
Licenses & Certificates: CPR Certification
Knowledge & Abilities: Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and other personnel. Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds. Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours). Have the ability to learn and follow directions, and have excellent people skills.
